What role does sound-making play in the building of relationship between a parent and child? Location: Open field next to Blk OVenue: Open field next to Blk O
Capacity: up to 40 pax per session
(20 pairs of parent and child)
Price: $30 for one parent + one child
Recommended for parents and children between ages 4 to 12.
Theme: Nature & Art
Peak pose: Flower pose
Art: Flower mandala with real flowers or printed mandala for them to colour
Practicing outdoor partner yoga is a great way to connect through movement and stillness with your loved ones and Mother Nature. The practice allows us to slow down, look into each other’s eyes to build deep emotional connection, hold our bodies close to each other to build body awareness, and use our creativity to go away together to our imaginary adventure.
In this one-hour practice, parents and children will go on an adventure to explore the world with different movements & stillness. They will play pretend to be animals and plants; they will learn how they are connected and can co-exist with Mother Nature, and how we can all come together to be responsible human beings to look after Mother Nature.
We will end the practice by using dry leaves and flowers to create a nice big flower mandala. A time for creativity, slow movements, and appreciation of Mother Nature.
We will be there rain or shine (unless there is lightning).

Outdoor Sensory & Water Play
25 Jun 2022, Sat | 3pm – 5pm
Location: Open field next to Blk OVenue: Open field next to Blk O
Capacity: up to 100 pax per session
Price: Free with Registration. Each ticket admits one child with accompanying adult(s).
Recommended for ages 4 to 12.
Play is the best way to learn.
Play is not a luxury; it is necessary for children.
Outdoor and free play allows children to have the opportunity to explore at their own pace and make choices for themselves; it’s not surprising that children have better self-regulation when they are allowed to have unstructured play.
Join us for 90 mins of outdoor free play with art stuff, recycled materials, and water. Your child will experience the freedom to explore their curiosity while learning about sharing and social cues.
Rain or shine we will continue (unless there is lightning). There will also be messy play, so we suggest wearing old clothes and bringing extra clothes to change.
If it rains, we’ll just play in the water puddles so gear up with rain boots if you want. Play is serious learning for the children (and us).

Performance: F & B (a.k.a Family & Baking) - Excerpt from IN/OUT
Across segments of interwoven explorations, our young performers En Jie and Annika are paired through the sense of shared inquiry in which their individual identities developed during the pandemic in new directions: En Jie found time and space to develop and hone his skills in food preparation, whereas Annika grew newly sensitised to her emotional associations and attachments to her family members.
Through encounters with the self and others, we see how the youth's identities are honed and influenced by memorisation and memories, by demonstration and storytelling.

The Observatory – far from silent and objective as its name suggests – is a band whose music and cultural ethos is to respond and speak back to the contemporary afflictions in Singapore and the global milieu. Its current constellation comprises multi-instrumentalists Cheryl Ong, Dharma and Yuen Chee Wai who tread on improvisation, inter-media, experimentation and noise-adjacent territories. In confronting new forms of disorders, The Observatory restlessly turns upon itself to agitate, to comfort and to resist.
Drawing on old and new lexicons, The Observatory seeks to bridge artists and expressions. Two decades on, the band’s polymath practice encompasses music and performance; in-person festivals and online radio shows; touring gigs and interdisciplinary exhibitions.

From 13 June – 2 July 2022.
cont·act Contemporary Dance Festival returns with a refreshed name and identity for its 12th edition! The newly stylised name of “cont·act” – meaning “continued act” – encapsulates the Festival’s enduring commitment to contribute to the local contemporary dance landscape, and renewed vigour in celebrating dance as a bridging force of experiences and perspectives.
Themed “Breathing Ground”, the 12th edition of the Festival conducts a space of respite, reflection, and reconnection with the self and the larger community. The Festival’s lineup of live performances, for live audiences, is a resistant note against the onslaught of digitalisation of performance in the past two years, yet a knowing ode and farewell to the making and presenting of dance as we know it. As we begin to reimagine dance and its possibilities in an endemic world, “Breathing Ground” – illustrating a heaving, breathing earth – suggests a burgeoning ripeness for the turn of a new chapter

After the challenging 2 years we’ve lived through, what better salve for the soul than poetic words of wisdom from the pen of Kahlil Gibran. This selection of his works – some instantly recognizable, others less known but equally evocative – are woven into an evening of entertainment and illumination.
Presented in an ambiance reminiscent of a Middle Eastern desert tent and accompanied by the ethereal strains of the Arabian oud played “LIVE” by a master of the instrument, Gibran’s words are revealed in an intimate, storytelling fashion.
Thought-provoking, calming, inspiring words for Life’s elemental moments – from mundane to magnificent, and the many shades between.
Conceptualised and Narrated by Remesh Panicker
Music Performed by Azrin Abdullah
Jointly produced by Apsaras Arts Ltd and Passion Purpose

In this whimsical and acrobatic dance theatre performance, the letters of the alphabet take on different shapes and sounds to inspire silliness that kids and grown-ups will enjoy. Do children need to know the alphabet to enjoy the show? Not at all. Do they learn it by the end of the show? That’s not our goal! Will the children spend the rest of the week making shapes and sounds with their bodies - and spotting letters everywhere? They just might! Join us to see what happens when letters come alive.
Letters Come Alive! was first staged at The Artground, and subsequently performed at The Esplanade's Octoburst! festival and the National Arts Council's Got To Move initiative.
