The Call of the Mind

Jalal is the 3rd generation Singapore’s Artist. He is known for his Social Commentary works. He creates each artwork as an avenue to share and challenge the viewer’s natural and ideological perceptions of this fast shaping world. Driven by his sharp observation and conceptual visual expression, Jalal’s aesthetic variations transform common idea with a fundamental concern towards society, the environment and humanities. 

He loves to explore the richness, joyous and harmonious of colours. He picks human, nature and objects around him as his subject matter that gives freshness and spontaneity to life. He portrays colourful perspective to his paintings by applying the vibrant colours, the creative styling, the strong drawing skill with intellectual inclinations yet comical in composition. He projects the pleasure of living in this God-created world. Cheerfulness and delight wonders. 

Characterised by finesse and sense of humour, Jalal’s creations encourage viewers to evaluate the hidden meanings of each work, behind their seemingly simple yet candid compositions. Always ‘strong in colour’, the nature of his artwork is openly apparent, and he skilfully composed this mode of expression to create engaging conversation with his viewers.

Jalal’s artworks are among the many modes through which he commits “The Call of the Mind” bringing his thoughts and ideas, presented to human cultural sensibility. He has travels, organise art exhibition and exhibit frequently in many parts of the world such as, Singapore, China, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Dubai, Iran, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macau, Netherlands, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei and recently Italy. He is the Founding member of TUJU Art Group, Executive Member of Singapore Modern Art Society and Senior Member of Singapore Malay Artists of Various Resources (APAD). 

2020 will be a busy year for him too as he has line up of art projects & programs in Malaysia Biennale 2020, Antalya Turkey Art Program 2020, Abstract Art in KL Malaysia 2020, Art Journey in Philippines, Save Flora & Fauna Perak Malaysia 2020, Asian International Art Exhibition in Fukuoka and Borobudur Art Moment 2020 and more in the pipelines.
